The Goals of the Choir
The Middle School Choirs are structured to begin musical learning in 6th grade. Singing in a choir is a new skill for many students and requires a different mindset that other disciplines. It is community-driven. This means that the emergent characteristics of a group of voices is the focus rather than the individual. In other words, the sum is greater than the whole.
Our primary goal is to direct the attention of the students to how they function as part of the whole. this is a microcosm of the Church; how do we function individually for the benefit and edification of others? It is our mission this year, and every year and find what this means for us as a choir and body of believers.

Our Choir at a Glance
The 6th Grade Choir provides an opportunity for students to explore choral singing, healthy vocalization, music theory, and sight reading.
The 7/8th Choir continues developing these skills as it explores more complex music with more parts. Even if a singer is new to the choir, it is not too late to catch up with this choir, but the goal is to dig deeply into these concepts. |
